Edison is a small utility that allows individuals and business to cut power consumption on workstations and personal computers. Yes there is an inbuild utility in XP or Vista and make the appropriate changes, but this user interface makes it more fun and is much simpler… not to mention the fun statistics on how much money you’ve saved.
Installing Edison
This 28MB package is compatiable with both Windows XP (Service Pack2) and Windows Vista. Installation is as simple as pie.

After Installation you will get a screen that will prompt you to register your email account. Once submitted you get an activations code, and after receiving it, hit the “I’m Activated!” button.

Using Edison
The next big thing is how to control this utility. It is quite easy to to adjust the power settings to be most advantageous to yourself and the environment. The easiest way is to adjust the position of the slider between saving more or less power.

From the Interface you can make adjustments from inbuilt presets like Work Time etc or a complete custom schedule.
