Helllppppp !!! Paypal Screwed Me Up !!!
I am really tensed, really just worried ! Dont know what to do ?? Paypal just screwed me up…
Paypal as 80% of you all must be using is one of the important utility for online business. You might be wondering what business I do ? I am a freelancer and I also sell digital goods, themes etc. so all my money transactions take place on Paypal.
I am a Paypal User since past 2 years and verified since 8 months. I was verified both by a credit card and by uploading documents supporting both my address proof and ID proof…
And today when I login to send money, this is what I see on my paypal account …
Well, I wondered why Paypal did that but I thought it might have been a regular check by Paypal for the users to keep update their account information. All they asked me was the same Utility Bill.
Acting quick without taking long I took the snaps of my recent Electricity and uploaded it to the paypal. Along with it I also uploaded by bank passbook screenshot and an old electricity bill. Ahh !! What a relief, as expected I thought my account will be up in 2 days. But to my goodness this is what I receive after 2 hours from Paypal
WTF !! What do I do now ? What else does Paypal wants ? How shall I prove that I am me ? I have asked the same series of questions questions to PaypalNow I really dont understand what to do ? All my income is ruined !! I have no other alternatives… and what do I say… grrr… without Paypal I can’t even pay for the hosting to run my blog… Ahh why do all these things happen..
I am not worried as my paypal account is limited but the thing is how should I suddenlt change my payment stream, more over how will I pay for the hosting ?? Duh ! everything works on paypal ? And I have my account blocked ! ! !
I hope paypal will understand my problem and open up my account. That’s all I can wait and see.. If anyone have gone through the same problem and have a solution please do email at “w e b m a s t e r @ t e c h f r e a k s . i n f o” {without spaces and quotes …}













The language in the second screenshot (
“we’d to end our business relationship”) is not good English, and makes me suspect a scam. I’d be very careful; check that you are indeed dealing with paypal.com, and not a fraudster.

Yes! It is paypal.com, I have checked throughly where the mail had come from and the nameservers indeed point to paypal.com, I logged into paypal to check the status too.
We have had this same problem more than once. The first time it happened we too were like WTF. We had to fax them our life to prove who we were. Ok, security fine. But for this to happen more than once is unacceptable. Our customers thank goodness were understanding, but it put a damper on our business. It took a good month to get it under control. Everything we do is a PayPal related. This is how we accept payments. So, I feel for you and am glad that you posted this. I was starting to wonder if we were the only ones. By the way our business is computers and we have big big bucks going in and out. Paypal stopped service because of 1234.00 bucks. That is nothing. Of course they heard from us.
I had a similar problem - my payment was flagged because I signed in to PayPal from home, but at the time all my internet traffic was going to through an anonomyzing VPN in Sweden. Pay Pal saw the foreign IP address and automatically flagged my account and disputed my payment. Were you doing something similar at the time? They were able to correct this for me within a day or two.

Thanks for the reply Beth. Even I was wondering if this just happened only to me or what. One time is common to all, but second time means its just annoying. And more annoying when the don’t understand us. I provided them will all the residential proofs that I can. But still they don’t seem to be satisfied. Here the stopped my service because I linked my paypal account to ebay account. They asked me to upload a utility bill which I did but they are not satisfied with it.

I am behind a NAT but I am not sure if the IP address behind a VPN. Because when sometimes I make whois on my IP Address it shows the country as Australia. But my account is not made limited due to that reason. I really dont understand what to do and if this will be resolved or not.
Hi, Sad to hear, its kinda routine for them to verify the account, and they do that again and again, Can you belive my paypal was limited atleast 10 times within last 18 months. well thats how they verify. Now lets get to the point.
1- Did you make sure the address and the name is same in your all documents? example your utility bill is that on your own name?
1- you have to recheck the documents make sure they all have the same name and same address. If not then explain them. For example if utility bill is on your parents name simply let them know you are living with your parent and its on their name but the address is same.
I hope you can figure out something now. This is the only point they look for. You can also upload the files in paypal. instead of faxing them.

Hello, thanks for the info. That might be the problem I believe, the bill is on the name of my parents and I never told them about that, just uploaded. Btw, they mailed me that the are closing down the account and need no response from my side. Do you think they will read the documents again ? Let me try out once again this time again. I hope they turn me in.

Hey sorry I couldn’t get back to you faster, Yes ofcourse if you want your account back you have to follow and don’t give up. you might have to call them too if they don’t respond. so they know that your account is important to you. My account when it was limited about 8th time they told me that they can not reinstate and there was no reason.. So I called them and had some arguments the next day my account was reinstated. So only the point is you must be the real owner and its okay if the bill is on your parents name but it must be cleared to them. okay don’t give up!

I faxed them again this time and lets hope for the best, by the way I called them before faxing but the guy at the support team told me that he cant help it and there is nothing that can be done. However he said me to mail to appeals@paypal.com and I did the same. I have about 180$ in my account I believe. Money is not a problem but the thing is that I can send payments and that is why I feel I need paypal. Though keeping money in my account I can’t even pay for my hosting which is going to end this week.
